Hans J de Villiers is a Power Engineer with a Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Honours) in Power Engineering, backed by a National Diploma, Advanced Diploma, and Red Seal Electrician qualification. His unique combination of engineering theory and extensive hands-on industrial experience enables him to bridge the gap between design, commissioning, troubleshooting, and practical implementation across complex electrical infrastructure.

Hans has delivered projects spanning industrial power systems, motor control, variable speed drives, PLC-based automation, electrical installations, commissioning, fault finding, and compliance. He has contributed to electrical machinery projects in Germany’s waste-processing sector and supports charging infrastructure and energy-transition initiatives in South Africa. His expertise allows Ripple Consulting to provide clients with practical, technically sound solutions from concept through to commissioning.

Key Engineering Experience

Cape Town International Airport (R100M+ MV Infrastructure Upgrade)
Contributed to the delivery of a major medium-voltage (MV) feeder upgrade valued at over R100 million. Responsibilities included MV cable installation and routing, UniGear switchgear integration, project coordination, construction planning, health and safety compliance, scheduling, quality control, and stakeholder coordination within a live international airport environment.
Paarl Civic Centre Modernisation
Supported the upgrade of the Civic Centre’s electrical power and data infrastructure, working alongside consulting engineers on planning, installation, testing, commissioning, and project coordination to modernise critical municipal services.
Renewable Energy & Power Systems
Delivered commercial and utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) system design, electrical design, wireless data acquisition, remote monitoring, SCADA integration, energy performance analysis, data logging, and renewable energy consulting for grid-connected power systems.
Industrial Automation (Germany)
